The makeglossaries command cannot be added to user commands which is stated by alot of online references. However the command itself works fine when run in terminal. With help from Shawn, my\u00a0colleague, we managed to get it working.<\/p>\n<p>The following is a sample tex file with glossary<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>documentclass{article} <br \/>usepackage[colorlinks]{hyperref}<br \/>usepackage{glossaries} % make a separate list of acronyms<br \/>makeglossaries<br \/>newglossaryentry{sample}{name={sample},<br \/>description={a sample entry}}<br \/>newacronym[glsshortpluralkey=cas,glslongpluralkey=contrived<br \/>acronyms]{aca}{aca}{a contrived acronym}<br \/>begin{document}<br \/>A gls{sample} entry and gls{aca}. Second use: gls{aca}.<br \/>Plurals: glspl{sample}. Reset acronymglsreset{aca}.<br \/>First use: glspl{aca}. Second use: glspl{aca}.<br \/>printglossaries<br \/>end{document}<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Firstly, in your texmaker installation, go to user &gt; user commands &gt; edit user commands, choose 1 and add the line below. after which you should compile your tex file with latex and then make glossary. This should work as opposed to makeglossaries % which many tutorials say.
